DIVA Literary Festival

Throughout the Kenric year, we organise a diverse range of activities, from walking to kite-flying, open to any member – and their invited guests – wishing to join the fun. Kenric dances and discos are usually open to members and guests. Local Groups throughout the country organize a wide range of activities that include purely social gatherings as well as more active pursuits… You name it, we do it!

FYI: The inaugural DIVA Literary Festival and Awards are taking place at the Hilton Metropole, NEC Birmingham.

The weekend will begin on the Friday evening with the DIVA Literary Awards and continue with days full of book readings, writing workshops, panel discussions, poetry readings and more, focusing on lesbian writers from across the globe. The programme aims to reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, providing a platform for the voices and experiences of queer people.

Featuring the most esteemed writers, this event brings together artists and audiences for what will be one of the ‘not to be missed’ highlights of the literary calendar.
The lineup is pretty impressive – guests include Donna Deitch, Rachel Shelley, Val McDermid, Kiki Archer and V G Lee.

There’s a Saturday night cabaret featuring Lucy Spraggan, Horse, Heather Peace, Krystle Warren, Rosie Wilby and Clare Summerskill.

Tickets: available online at
http://www.divaliteraryfestival.com/the-programme.html

This will be an un-hosted event but members may want to meet up with each other informally over the weekend.
