Workshop – a walk around Kew Gardens
Monday November 6 2017, 11:00 AM
Kew Gardens, Victoria Gate
Lichfield Road, Richmond, TW9 3JR
Meet inside the gardens at Victoria Gate at 11.00am
Join professional photographer Pat Langford for a walk around Kew Gardens, a place that abounds with opportunities to take stunning photographs. During the walk, Pat will be able to help you get the best from your camera and advise you on the settings, perspectives and compositions to get images that really ‘pop’.
You will need:
- A camera – this can be anything from a DSLR to a Compact. It doesn’t matter what kind of kit it is. Please note this walk is not suitable for film or mobile phone cameras
- A notebook and pen/pencil
- Wet-weather gear in case of rain. If this happens we will work in the glass houses but there will be times when being outside is inevitable
- A tripod if you have one but this is not essential
Cost: £14.00 (free to Kew Gardens Members) Please book your own ticket at: https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens/plan-your-visit-to-kew-gardens/ticket-prices
We will meet at the Victoria Gate Entrance, on the Gardens side of the ticket booths at 11:00. The walk will take approximately three hours.
If at all possible, before coming on this walk, you should familiarise yourself with how to change the basic camera settings of shutter speed, aperture and ISO. It is not necessary to fully understand these operations as this will all be covered in the walk.
In order to allow for one-to-one interactions, the group size for this event is restricted to 5 people. Please book your place on Meetup or contact Dilly.
