NOW YOU SEE ME: Lesbian Life Stories

A new book by Jane Traies will be published in August

Jane has been recording the life histories of older women who identify as lesbian for nearly a decade now and the narratives in her latest book are drawn from this archive of “hidden histories”.  The new book is a collection of powerful personal accounts, told in women’s own words, which vividly recreate a time when being lesbian meant either hiding your true identity or paying the price for breaking society’s rules…

Clare Summerskill describes the book as “a pure delight from beginning to end” where the stories are told beautifully and honestly.  With that endorsement, you’ll no doubt want to get hold of a copy:

Published by Tollington Press and costs £11.99 plus p&p
Either from Amazon

Jane will be promoting her book in a series of launch events which will take place in Brighton in August and in London in September.  Look out for more details of these as Jane is both sensitive and great fun and always worth listening to!

Jane will be reading at Gay’s the Word on 24th September. Details of  will appear on GTW’s regular publicity. There will also be a big event around the book hosted by Opening Doors London, on 27th September, so watch out for ODL’s events list for September. See ODL Event here
