Lesbian Therapist Directory

Considering counselling? Thinking about therapy?

Hello Kenric members

It’s good to make contact with a sister lesbian organisation. Just in case you haven’t heard of us we’re happy to share the Lesbian Therapist Directory with you. We founded the Directory a few years ago because we wanted there to be a choice for lesbians to find a positively lesbian identified therapist.

The Lesbian Therapist Directory is an online nationwide directory for finding a lesbian identified therapist; counsellors and psychotherapists on the Directory offer a range of styles and approaches.
You can find us at

We are small voluntary collective running the Directory and we include only lesbian therapists who are fully trained, qualified, insured and registered with professional organisations. We are a not-for-profit Social Enterprise.

Why a lesbian therapist?

We believe that you should be able to choose a lesbian therapist because you:

  • just want to be able to talk without explaining
  • want to know that some things are understood
  • want to trust there will be no judgement
  • want to work with a lesbian who is comfortable with her identity

Women often choose to have therapy because they are experiencing difficulties and distress in their lives and talking confidentially with someone who is independent of friends and family may be helpful and easier.

You need not be in a crisis; you may simply be experiencing feelings of dissatisfaction with life in general or seeking balance in your life. Going to a therapist doesn’t mean that you can’t manage on your own, but that you are expressing personal responsibility for yourself by seeking professional support.

If you’d like to find a therapist in your area have a look at the website:

If any lesbian therapists are interested in joining the Directory we’d be happy to hear from you, you can follow the link on the website.
